When Amy and Ryan began to plan their wedding, the couple knew it had to take place in the Lakes Region.
Says Ryan, “We are not from the area – Amy is from Hancock, NH and I am from Pennsylvania.” Like many others planning a wedding, they loved the beauty of the area and wanted their special day to take place in this very special part of NH.
There were some must-haves for their wedding, such as the couple wanting their ceremony to take place in a church. “Getting married in a church was very important to us, so we did an online search and found the Gilford Community Church. It reminded me a lot of my church growing up, so we went and took a tour and met Pastor Michael (Graham). We absolutely fell in love with the church and knew that was where we wanted to get married,” Amy says.
Located in the picturesque village of Gilford, The Community Church welcomes everyone and after an expansion some years ago, has room for any size wedding. Touches of the past such as original stained glass windows, blend well with the newer design, offering a wonderful, warm and inviting place for a wedding ceremony.
The couple had seven groomsmen and seven bridesmaids and the colors for the wedding were plum with shades of lavender and earth tones. With 110 guests, the Gilford Church offered plenty of seating for the ceremony, and the reception venue, La Piece in Tilton, was equally comfortable, with a lot of style.
The couple lived out of state as they planned the wedding, so they were very enthusiastic about the fact that Anna Yasharian, the owner of La Piece, also serves as a wedding planner. Recalls Amy, “This was perfect for us; it was nice to know that we could describe our vision and that she would carry it out perfectly.”
